Michael Weddell Closes The Gap To Matthew Pape In First;
The championship battle just keeps on getting better in the Scottish Legends! Michael Weddell has closed the gap to Matthew Pape at the top of the standings after a mostly successful weekend for the 77 car. Michael generally over the weekend was quicker than his championship rivals Pape and Mark Beaty, taking 3 podiums and being consistently in the top 5 over the 6 races this weekend. Both Pape and Weddell suffered a DNF each with Weddell having a scary incident hitting a tyre stack, destroying the right hand side of the car in heat 2 on Sunday, Weddell was able to get back out for the final race of the weekend – thanks to Minimax Motorsport’s hard work repairing the 77 – taking a podium to end his weekend!
Angus Scrivener yet again showed incredible pace over the weekend, taking a podium in 6 out of the 6 races, performing a highly impressive clean sweep! Winning in 33% of his races over the weekend! The Rookie sensation possibly throwing his hat in the ring for a very late title charge!
Ben Mason Absent Due To Car Issues;
The very popular Ben Mason did not race at Croft despite showing championship challenging promise along with a win at the BTCC event at Knockhill in early August. Mason was unable to make the meeting due to mixed factors, after sustaining damage in the final race of the last race meeting, the engine in the 1 car having major issues along with the engine block cracking.
Mason estimates that all this damage could cost upwards of £4,000 to fix, with the Cresta driver looking for some backing to hopefully participate in the rest of the season.
Another exciting meeting for Scottish Legends promises a exciting end to the season with 2 rounds left and 1 title to be decided, It’s all or nothing from here on out!
