The SMRC has unveiled it’s 2027 schedule with a headline Scottish Mini Cooper round supporting the BTCC’s 2027 visit to Knockhill grabbing the headlines across the UK. This article will take a deeper dive at the calendar and explore what championships are racing where, and of course when.

Scottish Mini Cooper Cup;

Starting off with the headliner, the Scottish Mini’s will head to three out of four countries in the United Kingdom in 2027, stopping in at Cymru (Wales) and England while of course being based in Scotland. The Scottish Mini’s will start off the season in late April on the 24th of April, including three races in a single day, racing at Knockhill on the anti-clockwise layout as part of a twin-track weekend alongside both KMSC and DDMC action. May brings a exciting away trip to Anglesey Circuit in Cymru (Wales) for a triple header on the coast of the beautiful isle of Anglesey. After a month away the Scottish Mini’s return to action at Oulton Park in England as part of the Mini Mayhem meeting, which will contain two races in a highly entertaining meeting! Only two weeks later the Mini’s return to Scottish soil at Knockhill on the 10th-11th of July for rounds 9,10 & 11 before supporting the BTCC for the 4th triple header of the season on the 7th-8th of August, with race three being televised live on ITV4! After another month break to cool down from the summer the Mini’s return to Knockhill’s anti-clockwise variation for rounds 15, 16 & 17 on the 18th-19th of September before the season finale a month later on the 9th-10th of October, with three rounds (rounds 18, 19 & 20) left to decide the champion of a monumental season for the Scottish Minis!

Scottish C1 Cup;

The Scottish C1s will experience a much more reliable calendar in 2027, with most rounds taking place at Knockhill, bar one round at Kirkistown. The season begins on Sunday the 25th of April at Knockhill before the afore mentioned away round to Northern Irelands Kirkistown circuit takes place on the 29th of May. After a short break the C1s return to summer action at Knockhill for the first full weekend of the year on the 11th-12th of July before racing alongside BARC and the BRSCC on the 21st of August on the anti-clockwise layout. Two more rounds on the 18th-19th of September and the 9th-10th of October rounds out the season, with the possibility of a C1 night race on the 9th of October!

Scottish Fiesta ST Cup;

The Scottish Fiesta ST cup follows a similar schedule to the Scottish C1 Cup in 2026, starting its season on the 24th of April on the anti-clockwise layout at Knockhill before heading to Northern Ireland alongside the Scottish C1s on the 29th of May. Heading into the summer the Fiesta’s race alongside the C1s again on the 10th-11th of July and taking the track the day after the C1s on the 22nd of August, racing alongside the BRSCC and BARC. In September the Fiesta’s take to the anti-clockwise layout of Knockhill before wrapping up the season on the 9th-10th of October, with rumours of a night race for the Fiestas on the Saturday night!

Scottish Classics / Historic Modsports & Special Saloons;

The Scottish Classics will join forces with the Historic Modsports & Special Saloons championship to make one of the best calendars on offer in Scottish motorsport! The season starts at Croft on the 3rd-4th of April before joining the Scottish C1s on track on the 25th of April – although without the Historic Modsports. The Classics and Historic Modsports will race at Knockhill on a rare June date on the 12-13th, alongside the Seat Super Cup. The Scottish Classics will then join the rest of the SMRC on the 10th-11th of July at Knockhill – with no Historic Modsports present – before a highly anticipated trip to Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix Circuit as part of the Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix on the 31st of July – 1st of August! A huge event on the SMRC’s 2027 calendar featuring some of the most stunning classic cars in the UK. Next up is another huge event in the form of the Gold Cup at Oulton Park, which will host the end of the Historic Modsports season, while the Scottish Classics head back to Knockhill to round out their season on the 9th-10th of October!
