It is race week once again at Knockhill for the Scottish Motor Racing Club as the Scottish C1s and Scottish Fiestas head for their penultimate round of the season! We’re heading towards the backend of the 2026 season now with every point counting, so, what should you look out for if you’ll be at Knockhill this weekend?
Scottish C1s;
The Scottish C1s are heading for a crucial triple header at Knockhill this weekend, with Ayden Wilson defending his championship with a 38 point lead to Marc Nisbet, with Gregor McPhaden close behind. If any of the top 3 are off their game this weekend, they could see themselves drop out of the title race come the final round in October.
One driver in particular need of a good round is Gregor McPhaden! McPhaden has had a up and down year up to this point – winning the first race of the season before suffering his only DNF of the season the same day. McPhaden has also been pre-occupied with his own racing team, “McPhaden Motorsport” who are running 3 cars for the rest of the season. McPhaden Motorsport have had an exciting few days acquiring their own garages at Knockhill, which will make them only the second C1 team with their own garages – behind Minimax Motorsport, who run the #61 car for Ian Cochrane.
Scott Charles of McPhaden Motorsport will hope to maintain his Newcomers Championship lead as he currently leaders Peter Edie by 8 points!
It should be a brilliant weekend of C1 action at Knockhill with plenty to look out for as the season comes towards its conclusion in October.
Scottish Fiestas;
The Scottish Fiestas make a return to Knockhill for the first time since July – having an away meeting in Kirkstown in between meetings! Multiple time champion Gerry Hendry will look to extend his championship lead this weekend – getting back into his Fiesta for the first time since making an appearance at the BTCC with the JCW Mini Challenge, unfortunately not having the best weekend, with luck not being on Hendry’s side. Hendry currently leads by 9 points to championship hopeful Jamie Dickie in the #99 car.
The Newcomers Championship is lead heavily by Lachlan MacLachlan with a 82 point advantage to Oliver Rook. MacLachlan has a chance to wrap up the newcomers title this weekend if things go his way – coming into the round after losing his immaculate streak of newcomers wins at Kirkstown last time out.
A possible title and a huge weekend for the overall championship show that this is set to be a brilliant weekend of action for the Scottish Fiestas, keep your eyes peeled for some great action up and down the field!
